Letchworth State Park

Let’s start by saying Letchworth is a BIG park. While it’s a beautiful park there are key things you may want to know before your arrival.
Entering and Exiting The Park
Our GPS had us enter the park grounds via the Mt. Morris entrance on Park Rd. However, there is the Perry entrance which is closer to the camp check in office.

Check In
All campers have to stop by the camp office prior to traveling to the campsite. That’s where you’ll register and get your parking pass. Also, we received a pre-registration notification that required the details of our camp group: RV, vehicles, # of people, tents. Highly recommend that you take care of this prior to approaching the camp office to save you some time.

Facilities
We chose campsites directly across from the facilities which were both good and bad. The good part was that the bathrooms and showers were close to our camp. The bad part was the amount of traffic going past our camp. It wasn’t too bad but it’s something we’ll consider next time.
The bathrooms were ok. In our limited experience, they weren’t the worst we’ve seen. But there was definitely room for improvement. For Kerry and I it wasn’t such a big deal as we have our RV bathroom but I’m sure the kids have their own opinions about the experience.

Campsites
Campsites were fine. Plenty of separation between them. There is a dumpster at the opening of each of the camping loops and you’ll have to fill your water tanks as you come into the loop. We camped in the 300 loop which is also
We had our first encounter with wildlife this trip. Kerry and I saw raccoons rummage through our picnic pavilion. They were cute but definitely disappointed as they came up empty handed. Fortunately, we had things packed up tight in totes and back in our vehicles. Also, a pack of coyotes traveled through our campsite as reported by our kids and their friends. I was sound asleep in the RV and oblivious to anything so there’s that.
One thing to note was that the temps were cool and there were hardly any mosquitoes. Even though it rained quite a bit – the kids were troopers and we had a great time!
