Koziar Christmas Village

Hey hey everyone!

In this episode we took a trip to the Koziar Christmas Village located in Bernville PA.  Koziar is a walk through holiday lights and display attraction that brings half a million visitors each season through its gates.   More about this village later on.

And if you wouldn’t mind hitting the like and subscribe buttons that would be most appreciated.

Blue Rocks Family Campground

This is our first pre-Christmas trip with Itty Bitty and we were excited to see how we do and how we like it as compared to warm weather camping.  Finding a year round campsite in the northeast is challenging but not impossible.  We reserved a site at Blue Rocks Family Campground – located in Lernhartsville PA.  It was no surprise that during this time of year, it wasn’t exactly crowded. The Blue Rocks campground was very nice and we had the opportunity to explore a bit of the area close to our site.  Even with all the snow and ice, it looks like a very family friendly place. Visit bluerockscampground.com for more information.

Pulpit Rock

As big fans of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies  – Kerry and I are always up for our own hiking adventures when available.  The Blue Rocks family campground provides access to the Pulpit Rock trailhead so we figured we’d     take a leisurely stroll to see what’s what.  The trail was a lot longer than we expected and was definitely more treacherous.  We traversed icy rock inclines.  Climbed over and under downed trees. And navigated through trails filled with hidden ankle twisting roots.

I think we broke some of the cardinal rules of hiking that day.  I mean – we like to think we are basically fit people and we go for hikes at our local state park but in hindsight we could’ve been more prepared.  Water bottles, small med-kit, and a cell phone battery charger will now be mandatory the next time we attempt a hike like this one – lesson learned!

Fortunately, we made it to Pulpit Rock without issue and were able to learn from the experience.  It was a beautiful view of the area and we can now add Pulpit Rock to our growing list of Itty Bitty RV adventures. Life is Good!

Koziar Christmas Village

First thing to know about visiting Koziar Christmas village is that timing is everything.  We were there on the weekend before Christmas and expected long lines with limited parking.  However, parking was easy peasy.  There are two lines for admission payment: one for credit cards and the other for cash.  Our wait on line was significantly reduced because we had cash on us so that was good.

We honestly didn’t know what to expect when we visited Koziar Christmas Village.  We knew that it was a very popular local holiday attraction and we watched a few YouTube videos about it.  Having visited NYC many times during the holidays and our trip last year to Mystic Village in Connecticut – Koziar was definitely a different experience.

This wasn’t a jaw dropping light display spectacular in comparison to NYC.  There weren’t any marvels of technological engineering.  However, what we found was a genuine holiday experience that shared a community’s love for Christmas.  We saw displays that were hand painted, holiday statues from previous generations, and countless strings of lights that added to the magic of the place.

Touring the village is at your own discretion.  I wouldn’t say that there is an exact rhyme or reason to the place.  Just go with the flow and follow where your heart desires.  There are a handful of shops to visit and places to get warm drinks and snacks.

For Kerry and I, what we liked most about this visit was the time spent with our youngest  daughter and our new son-in-law.  We were glad that they were able to join us.  Now that our daughters are grown and flown we cherish any chance we get to spend time with them – especially during the holidays!

We hope you all had a very happy holiday season and look forward to sharing our 2025 Itty Bitty RV adventures with you soon!
